Valentine’s Day in the Maldives 2021

Valentine’s Day in the Maldives 2021

Location: Maldives

Hello everyone, welcome to our first-ever travel post! We love to adventure and explore new places and cannot wait to share our experiences with you.

We traveled to the Maldives in February earlier this year to celebrate Valentine’s day and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From bright turquoise water to lush landscapes, the Maldives sure did not disappoint!

Keep reading to hear all about what we did, where we ate, and what YOU need to know before visiting! We also vlogged our entire trip which you can watch at the end as well!

The Flight

Since we traveled in February of 2021, there were Covid restrictions put in place to make sure we had the safest experience possible. Before our flight, we had to present negative Covid tests and keep our mask on through the duration of the flight.

Our flight had the most amazing service! We flew first class where they provided us with a pajama set, blankets, a Covid safe sanitary kit and refresher kit. The bathrooms also had some nice amenities such as toothbrushes, razors, lotion, and facial water.

They also had an extensive menu where we had a 5 course meal for dinner. At night, the chairs recline back into beds with a sliding door for privacy.

Getting to the Maldives from Seattle includes about a 24 hour travel time since it is halfway across the world located in the Indian ocean. After we landed, a driver from the island picked us up and took us to a private lounge area where we waited for our seaplane. The seaplane flies above and lands on the water which was a fun but slightly scary experience! After our seaplane landed, we went on one final boat ride to get to our private island resort called Kudadoo.

Where We Stayed

What a lot of people don’t know is that the Maldives is HUGE made up of over 1,000 islands. We stayed on a private island called Kudadoo which has a stunning all inclusive resort! In 2019 Kudadoo was voted the best new luxury hotel.

Kudadoo is what you envision when you think of the Maldives with the overwater bungalows, infinity pool, floating breakfast tray, and most scenic views you have ever seen! We had our own private butler, access to a spa, wine cellar, cheese room, scuba diving, boating, and a million more other activities. Kudadoo is the ultimate luxury vacation destination and in our experience, is worth every penny!

We were given a tour of our bungalow which was beautifully decorated for Valentines day to make it extra romantic for the occasion. Our bungalow was extremely spacious and featured a stunning infinity pool, an indoor-outdoor bathroom, and was surrounded by the brightest turquoise water we have ever seen!

What We Ate

As mentioned previously, staying at Kudadoo resorts comes with your own private butler to accommodate any meal or craving. They brought us decadent foods right to our room with lots of fresh fruits, acai bowls, cheese assortments, sandwiches, steak and really anything we were craving.

Watch our vlog down below to see more of what specifically we ate because this trip consisted of A LOT of good food!

Some of the highlights were our floating breakfast tray which consisted of fresh squeezed juice, lattes, acai bowls, fresh bread, Maldivian omelette, egg benedict, sunny side up eggs, and fresh fruit! We even met an Indian chef at the resort that made us authentic and the most delicious Indian chai tea!

Another memorable experience was getting to enjoy dinner on our own private island! We took a boat over to the island which we got all to ourselves! The chef made us fresh bread, grilled beef, chicken and lamb, as well as salad and grilled veggies. After dinner they brought us cheesecake with strawberry jam and lots of fresh fruits from the island.

Fun Activities!

There are many once in a lifetime experiences at the Maldives such as diving to see coral reefs, turtles and sharks, having a romantic dinner on your own private island, and island hopping on a luxury yacht.

One of our favorite activities was going scuba diving which was a new experience for both of us! We were a little bit nervous going into it but it was so FUN seeing all the coral reefs and sea animals that were beneath the surface. 100% a must see in the Maldives!

As you guys may already know, we love to document our experiences whether we are on vacation, trying out a new brunch place, or even just hanging out at home. Fortunately the Island had their own photographers and videographers so we could have these memories forever.
